Evolution Valley - Goddard Canyon Backpack, August 2004 Seventh Day Phil Farrell The seventh day's route is shown on the map below. Photos and descriptions follow the map. August 10, 2004   I have no photos from our last day, when we retraced our route of the first day, hiking five miles from our campsite near the Blayney Hot Springs down the South Fork of the San Joaquin River to Florence Lake. We were intent on getting out early enough to catch the 11 a.m. ferry back to the trailhead, so we would have plenty of time to drive home in daylight. We did arrive at the boat landing before 11, and called in with the radiotelephone to the store, as requested. In about 30 minutes, the ferry arrived and a swift ride across the lake, with good views back to the local peaks, completed an excellent backpacking trip.
